    Going down & out

    Putney

Space was the biggest requirement for this Victorian terrace property, so we were asked to rethink all aspects of the building.

We remodelled the rear of the house and added a single storey side extension on the ground floor and a new basement extension. The new ground floor space has created space for a contemporary kitchen which now opens on to the small courtyard garden. We’ve incorporated an oversize window and glass door - made of fire-rated glass - to connect the new kitchen to the open plan living/dining area, giving the middle dining area much more natural light. The new basement extension has created a guest bedroom/TV den, a utility room and bathroom, reached by a staircase illuminated by a glowing light strip.
