This property is a detached Edwardian house
situated in a generous plot in Surrey. The house had been unsympathetically
extended over the years and looked very tired. The aim was to
remodel the house to suit a family with three children.
The challenge externally was to blend the various extensions into the whole.
This was achieved by replacing windows and rendering the facades to give the
house a consistent and harmonious appearance. Internally, the ground floor layout
was reworked with a generous hall from which all main rooms are accessible. The
existing garages became a new reception room and a granny annex and a new double
garage was built.
The kitchen is the centre of the house with a glass extension serving as dining
room, an adjoining breakfast room and a study where the children can safely do
their homework. Bedrooms and bathrooms were refurbished to a very high standard. |
